This chalet is perfect for a couple wanting a relaxing getaway. The deck has a table that seats four and overlooks Lake Petit and the mountains. This cabin sleeps two adults and one or two children, depending on age. NOTE: The rock slide and water park are closed this year. Everything else is open. Unfortunately, we have had several persons bring pets, host parties and damage our property. It will monitor the walkway up to the cabin.

In the opposite direction the trail leads to historic Indian Mounds and Loop trail. Just off the deck enjoy the horseshoe pit, bench swing and hammock right beside the babbling mountain stream. There are many other trail systems inside of Big Canoe only a short car ride away. Bring a picnic and and enjoy these easy to moderate nature hikes. If hiking is not your thing, but you like to play tennis, you can choose clay courts, or hard courts, indoor courts, or outdoor! Like to play golf instead? Big Canoe offers 27 holes of golfing at reasonable rates in a very beautiful setting. The Clubhouse offers an outdoor grille, plus a very nice restaurant to enjoy at dinner time. The view from our home is mostly wooded with a large flat tree-filled back yard. In the fall you can see the peaks of the mountains through the trees. The driveway leading up to the house is long and mostly flat. The house sits off the road, so no worry about traffic. There is enough parking for four vehicles in the driveway. The parking area is directly in front of the house. Our home has five bedrooms and four of the bedrooms have queen beds, one bedroom has a full-size bunk-bed on the bottom and a twin bunk-bed on top. Two full bathrooms, located on the first and second floors of the home, are split between two bedrooms each. The third bath is private and is in the master bedroom. Three full baths give ample opportunities for showering after a long day at the rock slide, a fall hiking day, or after a day on the golf range. We have three seating areas to enjoy your meals. One formal dining area, a breakfast nook that seats four, and a bar area. The home will comfortably seat all house guests to enjoy meals together. The kitchen has granite counter-tops, and white painted wood cabinets. The appliances are modern, mostly stainless steel, and the kitchen is well equipped with all the supplies you need to cook and enjoy time together as friends or family. Inside you'll be taken to where rustic meets refined and creative meets comfortable. Enjoy our master bedroom with a queen canopy bed which seems to blend right into the woods that surround it. Our second bedroom has two twin beds which can be converted to a king upon request for no extra fee. Turn on the virtual flames of our little electric space heater and snuggle in for a snooze with the black bears. Take in panoramic sunrise views with your morning cup of coffee through floor to ceiling windows or grab a book from our little library and chill out on our wraparound porch and listen to the creek close by. Want to add something a little special to your stay? We offer two add on amenities -- both $35 each. The first is access to the washer/dryer in our utility closet under the living space. We provide clothes washing detergent and a laundry basket. The second is our gas log fireplace. Add a warm, romantic glow to your stay. Upon your request, we will set up the gas log with a standard 20 lb propane tank which delivers about 10 hours of burning with just the flip of a switch. After a day of taking in the Big Canoe experience, settle in with the family and watch a DVD or VHS tape in our cozy living room or play a board game from our game collection.
